History in Bloom at The Clare Estate

This past month, The Clare Estate’s residents and staff have been working on many horticulture projects together. Our residents have successfully finished various planting projects for the monastery garden which our staff members, Armgard, Gary, and Khaleb, made ready for the warm weather! Our Anthony’s Walk garden is also flourishing; we would like to thank Anita R., the spouse of one of our former residents, for her thoughtful donation of the most lovely roses. Many of our residents have commented on their beauty. Lastly, new flower beds were installed in the front of the building; our residents will tend to the vegetables here. Be sure to check them out the next time you stop by The Clare! If you would like to see The Clare Estate’s beautiful gardens, please feel free to stop by for a tour on Saturday, June 23, 2018! On the 23rd, The Clare Estate will be participating in the “History in Bloom” Annual Garden Tour in Bordentown that is sponsored by the Bordentown Historical Society. Attendees will enter the grand front doors of The Clare Estate to stroll beyond the high brick wall to view the “cloistered” monastery garden where the nuns once gathered; now, perennial beds are tended by the assisted living staff. In the guest area near the lobby doors, there will be live music on your way to see the new raised beds where residents tend to the vegetables. Feel free to stop by for a flower, hot dog, and refreshments!
